Versatile, experienced and adaptable!! Today we surf in increasingly diverse conditions, from perfect Tahitian waves to river swell.  With this in mind, for 2009, Slingshot are offering you four different style surfboards, each custom tailored so that any rider can find their perfect ride! The SST from Slingshot's Crossover Collection is designed to be the most versatile surfboard that they make.  The SST is great for lighter winds or bigger riders that want better upwind ability.  The SST Quad has a dome deck and deep single concave running the full length of the board.  Its boxy rails in the tail and low round soft forward railallow the SST Quad to be driven extremely hard in the turns.  The SST Quad shape also has a wider nose with a wider tail that provides a large surface area to drive the quad fins. The advantages of the SST make this board the most versatile board that Slingshot make!!! WVS [Wood Veneer Sandwich]

New for 2009, is a complete revamp of Slingshot’s approach to surfboard construction, developed exclusively for demanding kiteboarding conditions.?  Slingshot are incorporating the magic effect of wood found in their twin tip boards to their surfboards.   The Wood Veneer Sandwich? (WVS) brings a new standard of quality to surfboards designed for kiteboarding.?  The use of wood instead of foam in the sandwich part of the construction dampens the board for better feel, increases durability, and allows us control flex which provides a more intuitive ride.  It also allows Slingshot to build a much more eco friendly surfboard.

Weight
Building boards light yet strong challenges every manufacture.  Slingshot's experience with wood lets them meet these demands, while setting new standards in reliability for kitesurfing.

Feel
Full foam sandwich boards are more buoyant, stiffer and have a very tight crisp feel.?  These are actually negative attributes when you want your board to really feel the wave.  The new surfboard construction for 2009 is a little softer, less buoyant, and has flex.?  The result is more intuitive control.

Durability
Slingshot understand wave boards take on the most abuse out of any board.  They are also ridden in the most dynamic day to day conditions.  Since wood is denser than foam it is natural for the boards to be more impact resistant.
