"In the fall of 2001, I learned how to
kite without proper instruction and with old equipment. I can
wholeheartedly say I survived, just barely. I wish I had someone to
teach me but no one was around to do so. And because of my close calls
with death, I teach everyday to insure all of my students will learn
safe and effectively. I don't wish learning to kiteboard without
proper instruction on my worst enemy!"
If you’ve never flown a power kite before than this will be your first
chance to feel the raw power of a kite. Kite students beware: these
kites can and have picked up our students in excess of 10ft out of the
water on their very first lesson, but they loved every second of it!
Each kiteboard lesson includes kites, harnesses, bars and lines, helmets,
and vests. So don't worry about bringing any kite surf
equipment. We have it covered. However, please bring your
own sunscreen, water, booties, and a rash guard.
We at Dakine Surf, LLC. realize that every student wants to
be able to kite surf, and that's why you're taking a lesson.
So please listen very carefully to what your instructor has
to say. Your expert instructor will show you how to set up
and take apart the kite and lines, go over the wind-windows,
land the kite, launch the kite from the beach, re-launch the
kite from the water, and teach you other vital kite surfing
techniques. These skills can also be used for snow kiting,
kite buggying, and land boarding.

Private
and
Semi-Private Kiteboard Lessons
Our Private Lessons have a 1:1 student-teacher ratio. And our
Semi-Private Lessons have a 2:1 Student-Teacher Ratio. So Please
only sign up for our semi-private lessons if you have a friend or
significant other that wants to take the lesson with you. Or
call us ahead of time to check and see if we can pair you up with one
of our kite students.
